Earth Day 2016

For 46 years, Earth Day reminds us that we need to handle our earth and its resources more consciously. And even if we should do our best to make the earth a little bit better for 365 days in the year, Earth Day on April 22nd is a great movement to refreshen this thought again.

At Tongsai Bay in Thailand, trees were planted to make earth a better place.

Trees for the earth

This Earth Day 2016 is all about “Trees for the Earth“. Trees are so important for our planet: they offer energy, food and income. Trees can help communities to gain economical stability. They filter the air and try to conquer climate change root by root.

Last year, we shared a selection of our members’ activities on Earth Day. Today, this year’s Earth Day, our Green Pearls members were very active and once again reminded that nature preservation and support of the earth is important for us all.

New trees in The Tongsai Bay and CGH Earth Spice Village

At The Tongsai Bay in Thailand, guests can actively take part in Earth Day. The Green Projects Team invited guests and staff to plant trees on the hotel grounds. A great event for adults and the little ones!

The Green Projects team is open for ideas!

In the lobby, there is also a small “earth tree”, where everyone is welcomed to write down ideas, suggestions and recommendations concerning Environmental protection. Each idea or suggestion is read by the Green Projects Team of the resort, who then contemplates how some ideas could be implemented (if they are not already!)

It is done: the new tree is placed and will remind of this Earth Day 2016.

Also in India at CGH Earth everything revolved around a tree. The Indian princess, Princess of Travancore Royal Family, Smt. Gowri Parvathy Bayi, visited CGH Earth Spice Village and planted a soursop tree.

She also wants to bring attention to the fact that every little step along the way can help the environment.

Which small step do you take, to make the earth a better place? Did you maybe even plant a tree today as well?
