To conclude his trip, Tourism State Secretary Patrick Rapp has visited Lake Constance. The Deutsche Bodensee Tourismus GmbH (DBT) introduced the project "ECHT nachhaltig Bodensee" (REAL sustainable Lake Constance) at the Gerbehof. The project is about protecting the habitat and the vacation region of Lake Constance and raising awareness of this issue among locals and guests. DBT represents 30 communities along the northern shore of Lake Constance and its hinterland.

Showcase enterprise Naturresort Gerbehof

The Naturresort Gerbehof is also one of them. The business includes the Biohotel and an organic farm, managed by Ursula and Bruno Wagner together with their children Ralph, Priska and Christel. In the mid-90s, they converted the former Aussiedlerhof to fruit farming, and since 2016, apples and pears have been organically grown on 20 hectares here. Particularly proud is the family to be climate-positive and energy self-sufficient with the entire business. Moreover, the company is certified Gemeinwohlökonomie.

The tourism has an immense importance for the region and the whole country. It is about 380000 jobs; thus the tourist industry is ahead of the automotive sector, emphasizes Secretary of State Rupp.
