Schlosshotel Blankenburg receives "Greentable" Certification

Greentable Certification Sustainable Gastronomy for the Schlosshotel Blankenburg

The Schlosshotel Blankenburg receives the Greentable seal  “Sustainable Gastronomy” for its sustainable commitment. The seal is awarded to businesses in the hospitality industry that act with above-average ecological and social responsibility.

Among other things, Schlosshotel Blankenburg assumes responsibility for people and the environment in the targeted purchase of regional and seasonal products, the reduction of waste and low energy and water consumption.

The close connection to regional suppliers is evident every morning at the breakfast buffet and likewise in the daily changing evening menu: The Schlosshotel Blankenburg sources pork and sausages from the butcher Halberstädter Landwurst for example and game meat from the Harzer Jagdgemeinschaft Wienrode. Fruit and vegetables come from the Blankenburg horticultural company Staszat and the organic cheese is supplied by the cheese dairy Harzer Höhenvieh and the Westerhäuser Käsehof. Of course, a selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes is always available. The Greentable certification is another component of Schlosshotel Blankenburg's ongoing sustainability initiatives.
