Over many years of passionate bee-keeping, he has created a special bond with his bees taking his bee colonies to the most suitable crops throughout the year for the best quality of honey..
In 1966 the family Rinner linked three important concerns: family, bees and summer holidays. The project was clear – the construction of an apiary including workrooms and a flat for the apiarist. The choice of the location was defined by three points: accessible by public transportation, as well as central, climatically favorable and windless. The last point is of great importance for the beehive.
On the ground floor a queen’s breeding space was included in the plan to guarantee the reproduction. Also a honey storage and a storage room were not to be missed. In the basement the centrifuging center and a work and hobby room is situated. The diligent little bees were domiciled on the front side along the entire house.
At the beginning it was only a beehive with a beekeeper’s flat. During the construction phase the project was changed several times. On account of the positive tourism development and the favorable location it was evident that there was the possibility to realize the second dream – a guest house! Then, finally, in the construction phase, all rooms were equipped with shower and WC.
At that time the beekeeper’s house became a guest house and today in the third generation the family wants to revive the original story.

He is very proud particularly of the innovative Api wellness which is based on the soothing beehive air.
As a traveling apiorist Paul Rinner takes his bee colonies to locations where they find the best conditions. Thanks to the three climate zones in South Tirol (the Mediterranean influenced lowlands, the low mountain range with meadows and woods as well as the high mountain regions) the bees find a diverse flora.
Therefore they produce different high-class honeys : apple honey, acacia honey, dandelion honey, forest honey, chestnut honey, lime honey and high-level heath honey.
In the woods in front of the hotel guests can experience the small, fine bee’s educational trail. Here you find out all interesting facts about Apis mellifera, the western honeybee.
Api-wellness – globally unique
Bees beat their wings continuously to let the nectar dry up and keep the beehive at a temperature of 35°C. As a result, beehive air is enriched with volatile substances coming from honey, propolis, pollen and beeswax, including essential oils, flavonoids, aromatic substances and other health-promoting active ingredients.

The treatment with bee’s products for health preservation and healing is one of the oldest remedial methods with millennial tradition and experience. The medicine the bees provide is gentle though highly healing especially for breathing problems and allergies.
Based on these facts, certified apitherapist Jürgen Schmiedgen has developed the groundbreaking Beecura system – a treatment method based on the inhalation of beehive air that allows you to reap the benefits of its valuable components without disturbing the bees. You can inhale it directly – a pleasant and soothing experience. Jürgen Schmiedgen wants to prove the beneficial effects of beehive air in a clinical study.
As a guest at APIPURA hotel rinner, you will have the chance to live this exclusive experience under the expert guidance of host Paul Rinner.
