History & Philosophy
Hotel Bella Vista Zermatt opened in 1962 and now is managed in the third generation. The hotel founder, Theodor Perren, was a farmer and herded black-nosed sheep, while his wife Margrit looked after the hotel guests with great passion. The youngest daughter Bernadette took over the hotel in 1978 together with her husband Franz, a baker. The guests were offered a rich breakfast buffet with many fresh and homemade ingredients, which was not a matter of course at that time.

In 2010, the daughters Christine and Fabienne took over the hotel. Fabienne ran the business on her own from 2017 and has been committed to sustainable practices in the hotel’s day-to-day operations ever since. The youngest of the three sisters, Stefanie, returned to the hotel in 2018 and, as a yoga instructor, has since offered yoga classes and retreats. Together, the rooms were redesigned and the spa area expanded. The fourth generation with Fabienne’s son Elio is already in the starting blocks.
