Kasbah du Toubkal: Promoting Moroccan girls
The Kasbah du Toubkal is co-founder of the social project "Education for all" (EFA).
Girls are denied school education
In many regions, especially rural areas in Morocco, girls are denied schooling. Often the schools are too far away and accommodation close to the school is financially unacceptable for the families.
The social project "Education for all" was co-founded by our partner hotel in Morocco, the Kasbah du Toubkal, in order to enable these girls to receive an education.
The project provides the girls with free accommodation in the school's own hostels near the school. This gives them the opportunity for education and can sustainably improve their standard of living in rural areas.
According to the motto "Educate a boy and you educate the man; educate a girl and you educate a family, a community, a nation", "Education for All" is committed to the school education of disadvantaged girls.
The project is developing positively
What began in 2007 with 36 girls who dared to live without their parents, developed so positively that only 10 years later 186 girls took advantage of the opportunity to receive an education. The work of the organisation also changed the perspective of the locals. They now look forward to their daughters' future in a positive light and no longer hesitate to provide them with an education.
The project is financed and made possible by the guests of the Kasbah du Toubkal, by donations as well as volunteers. They support the girls with their schoolwork and also teach French. You can apply as a volunteer at info@efamorocco.org.
