Tree Planting Day

The Macaw Lodge is passionate about protecting and healing the forests of Costa Rica. The Lodge understands the importance of educating children about the enviroment in order to help raise their awareness of the natural world.

Every year the Macaw Lodge invites local school children to visit for the day. During the visit every child gets to plant a tree and then places a tag on the tree with their name on it.

This year students in kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade from three local schools in Las Delicias, Galan, and Bijagual visited Macaw Lodge. In the morning students planted their tree. After lunch there was a brief discussion with the young students about the importance of planting trees and the many benefits trees have on the environment led by Macaw Lodge's owner Pablo.
