Unique and eco-friendly vacation, Chile

General Information on Chile

Chile is one of South America's most stable and prosperous nations with stunning landscapes and mountains.

The Republic of Chile belongs to South America. Looking at the map it is a narrow strip of land between the Andes mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. In the north it borders Peru, to the northeast Bolivia, in the east Argentina and the Drake Passage in the south. Chilean territory includes the Pacific islands of Juan Fernández, Salas y Gómez, Desventuradas, and Easter Island. 1.250.000 square kilometres (480.000 sq mi) of Antarctica, although all claims are suspended under the Antarctic Treaty. Patagonia is a region in South America which lies between the 40th and 55th degree southern latitude and falls within Argentina as well as Chile. In view of the huge surface area (similar in size to mainland of Europe) is clear that in Patagonia quite different climate zones can be found. To preserve Chile's incredible nature, it is important that tourism contributes to a sustainable development.
