World Tourism Day 2015

While we all love to travel, did you know that there is a day completely dedicated to it? Every year on September 27th (this Sunday!), the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations invites the world to create awareness of the importance of tourism and the value it has socially, culturally, politically and economically.

1 Billion Tourists – 1 Billion Opportunities

UNWTO is the leading international organization concerning tourism and promotes it as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability.

This year’s theme for World Tourism Day is „1 Billion Tourists – 1 Billion Opportunities“ and is directed towards directly to you! Talk about tourism and its positive effects it can have on countries and communities around the world.

Every time we travel, we become part of a global movement that has the power to drive positive change for our planet and all people.

UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai.

Meet us

Green Pearls® and our Contribution to Travel

At Green Pearls®, we support raising awareness for traveling deeper – thinking about where and how long you travel and which accommodations you choose. The first step to sustainable travel is being mindful about your decisions. Because there lays the source to preserve the world for future generations, as founder and managing director Stefany Seipp also says:

It is worth it that we all fight for the many wonderful places, so that the existing ones stay for the coming generations. The small steps, which we take each day, are the ones that make a change. We borrowed the world from those, who come after us.

Voices of Green Pearls®

Our members show that creating eco-friendly places is possible and together we want to inspire many more people.

With my family, I mostly like to travel to places far away from mass tourism and we prefer small, lovable accommodations that are true hosts.

Travel belongs to our everyday life and sustainability and environmental awareness should have a solid, unshakeable spot in it. Because I am sure that it is the only right way and because I also think of the next generations, beginning with my children.

It is no longer about India and the rest of the world. Boundaries are man-made, not by nature. It is as much as every humans concern who share space on this earth.

Is also important to find methods to introduce people and, in our particular case, guests to good practices and behaviors, like – for example – green food and green energy use.

Sustainable tourism has to be about relieving pressures
on the environment that tourists travel to and that
necessitates increased involvement of local communities.

We are seeing more like-minded media e.g. bloggers and travel agents looking for a hotel who are serious about nature conversation and spreading the words about hotels with true efforts in environment protection.

It brings me great pleasure, when one is economically as well as ecologically and socially successful.

In a destination, where even the smallest activity can launch a disproportional reaction, the consciousness of the environment and positive handling in this sense is very important.
