There is something very special about autumn, isn’t it? The leaves turn colorful, the light gets a special autumn touch and (my personal highlight!) its finally the time for pumpkin soup. Im looking forward to it, as in autumn you can also do some traveling to gain great autumn experiences. In October and November for example, the Green Pearls® hotels Schloss Wartegg in Switzerland as well as Agriturismo L’Adagio in Liguria have exciting autumn events to offer. A traditional autumn festival at Lake Constance and the olive harvest in Liguria are worth a visit!

Autumn festival at Lake Constance: Jesters and culinary highlights 

Enter October 2nd 2016 into your calender, because thats when Schloss Wartegg in Switzerland celebrates its traditional autumn festival. Directly at Lake Constance, you can look forward to a colorful market with joyful jesters and street artists, who enchant with breathtaking juggling acts, cabaret and live music. Take a stroll over the market, where you can admire natural cosmetics, jewelery and other handmade products. Numerous market stalls also have a diverse offer of regional products. Whether you would like to try organic wines, fish specialties from Lake Constance or self-made confit – prepare to be spoilt with with culinary delights from Schloss Wartegg’s castle kitchen and the ProSpecie Rara garden. As a special treat, informative tours through Schloss Wartegg’s historic castle garden, which is protected as National Garden Monument, complete the autumn festival experience.

Autumnal olive and wine delights in Bella Italia 

Did you know that in October, the harvest of the Taggiasca Olives starts in Liguria? Surrounding the Green Pearls® hotel Agriturismo l’Adagio in Badalucco, the green gold grows since over 100 years on dense olive groves. Here, the charming hosts Rosella and Franco Boeri produce the exquisite “ROI” oils in their own mill. Their oil „Carte Noir“ has even been described as best olive oil in the world! Agriturismo L’Adagio welcomes you to taste the first pressings of the year and learn more about the production process of the superbe oils.

Especially in November L’Adagio is worth a visit, when the “OliOliva” – the festival of olive oil – takes place. Gourmets from all over the world come together from November 11 until 13 in the beautiful port city Imperia to celebrate “OliOliva”. From 9 am until sunset, there is hustle and bustle in the streets of the old town, where producers from all over Italy present their commodities.

You are not a big fan of olives? Of course, other culinary delights await the visitors of L’Adagio. From October  14 until 17, the popular city Sanremo at the Italian Riviera celebrates the “Wine Festival”. Here, over 100 Italian producers present more than 600 wines.
