Local wellness – relaxing in a natural way!

Spa treatments that truly pamper skin, hair and soul alike have been around for thousands of years. Depending on their individual origin, a variety of different regional ingredients are being used and even today many spa facilities concentrate on old traditions and the use of natural ingredients instead of highly complex chemical compounds.

Wellness at home…

Most of you probably already heard of a honey mask with quark or milk at some point in time. Honey has an anti-inflammatory quality, which is especially great to fight annoying zits and impurities – this effect is even enhanced, when chopped up tomatoes are added to the mixture. In conclusion you can see, that a lot of ingredients are used that many of us already have at home. Since thousands of years turmeric plays an important role in Ayurveda: With its anti-bacterial effect it is also a great help for inflammations, while also making the skin look polished and minimizing pores. The „Indian Wedding Mask“ for example is made of chickpea flour, turmeric and almond oil. It gets a little more experimental when looking at a shampoo made of rye flour that is supposed to give your hair more volume and shine. But not only regional and natural ingredients can be used as little beauty helpers: even supposed waste, such as coffee grounds from the morning are a great add for wellness treatments. When speaking of coffee grounds: you can make a great coffee peeling at home, using cooled coffee grounds, a little honey and oil of your choice. The caffein in the peeling enhances the blood flow and is supposed to help with cellulite.

…and when traveling

It’s always an adventure, when you dive into local wellness- and SPA rituals when traveling. Whether it’s Ayurveda in India or a trip to a Turkish Hamam – in front of the local scenery, these traditions can truly take effect. When you happen to be in the SPA area of the Gloria Verde Resort in Turkey, you should definitely have a Sehrazat-care, that traditionally belongs to a visit of a Turkish bath. After a peeling, the treatment goes on with a foam massage, that enhances blood circulation and detoxifies the body.
