Hiking across the Teufelsmühle
The Black Forest around Bad Herrenalb is a paradise for all nature lovers and active vacationers: a multitude of hiking routes, geocaching and adventure trails can be discovered in the Nature Park.
A special trail is the “Große Runde über die Teufelsmühle” (English: Long hike across the Devil’s Mill), which was awarded as quality trail called “traumtour” (English: dream tour).

The spa city Bad Herrenalb contributes actively to climate protection and the protection of its woods. The government Baden-Wurttemberg supports visitor-strong tourism destinations in their sustainable development providing a sustainable cheque.
Fairtrade City
Since 2012 Bad Herrenalb is awarded by the non-profit organization TransFair as “Fairtrade City.” The award repeats every two years and comprises five important criteria: The local council, some associations and parishes must offer fair trade products. In addition, supporting fair trade must be recorded in a council resolution.
Ecological responsibility: Active climate protection
For Bad Herrenalb active climate protection is an important subject. Together with external engineers a concept was developed which reduces the energy consumption of buildings and facilities:
Improvement of heat insulation in the Kurhaus Bad Herrenalb, cogeneration unit for the Siebenthäler Therme and a pellet heating at the city hall in Bernbach.
