About the Austrian cuisine
The traditional Austrian cuisine offers a lot of regional characteristics which are mostly related to the cooking tradition of the imperial and royal Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Besides regional traditions the Austrian cuisine was particularly influenced by cooking traditions from Hungary, Germany and Italy. Different ways of preparation as well as some dishes, were taken over and were integrated in the Austrian cooking. All together the Austrian cuisine offers a big variety in courts. Typically Austrian dishes are, for example, “Wiener Schnitzel“, prime boiled beef, pancakes or goulash.
